I've searched the web but can't find what I need to get the heater installed correctly. All I have is the Heater box with core. I can find the 12V Blower switch, 12v Blower motor to replace the locked up one,and a cable actuated water shut-off valve online, but no cable and not sure about a resistor if needed. Besides hoses/clamps, what else is needed and anyone have a schematic or pics of correct install?

With a 12 Volt blower motor, no resistor is needed. With the 12 Volt switch you are set to go. The cable to turn the water on and off to he core? I would find an aftermarket cable that is long enough and a mount that attaches to the under side of the dash. My truck has some holes down there that would work. If you can find a cable with an H on it that would be nice. You will have to make some sort of clamp at the firewall to attach the end of the cable and direct it to the valve, but that is not too hard to do. I have the same setup in my truck, 52 1/2 ton but the cab is the same. I just turn that valve by hand according to season. If you can find a heater cable that is long enough it might have the "wrapped" end that fits over the pin on that valve. I have not seen the bits that make up the control cable on any Vendors site, so if you do let me know.

Thanks Steve, that helps a lot. I'm waiting on a response back from the Radiator repair shop on the core and if it can be repaired then I'll go ahead and order the rest of the parts. I hadn't considered using a manual valve. Thanks for the help.

The core wasn't repairable so now looking at other options...

You can get the whole thing new from this Vendor:

Not the recirculating one but a replica of one common to your truck. About 200.00 for a complete heater. With ducts as well. Or you could try the Parts Wanted section and see what is out there.

Thanks Steve, I've got a guy checking out a 55 and a 57 to see if he can come up with a core.....if that don't work may look at your option.

That round core in the recirculating heater is available, I saw one a while back, but spendy, quite spendy. I worry some about mine. If I see antifreeze on my floor, I will have to do the same as you. Good luck.

I just bought a Vintage Air Gen2 heater with defrost for my 52 3600. $230 for a new unit verses spending $400+ getting the original working. I am looking for daily drivability, not so much originality. Now how to power it with a 6volt system. Will probably just use an auxiliary 12 volt battery.

I hate new trucks!

Ladyknieval - I just took a look at that heater and its definitely an option. I'd like to hear how well you like it once you've got it completed. I've got a fellow stovebolter working on getting me a usable used core so hopefully I'll have this worked out soon. No heat isn't an option.
