I have a 1951 Chevrolet pickup. In the past someone jury rigged the piece that connects the actuating lever to the lever on the motor that turns it on and off. The manual gives no indication of what it might be like, just says to take the pin loose and remove it.

First off what is it like and second where might I find one. What would I even ask for?

Its just a pc. of 1/8 inch rod with a Z bend one one end and a 90 bend on the other side. You could put an add in Parts Wanted here and there are many of them out there.I could send you one but right now but my garage is packed up setting on the patio waiting for the new garage to get built. You can get the new rubber grommets from Clasic Parts of America.
