Hello,

I live NE of Atlanta. I have a 1954 235 from a 3100 that I would like to have rebuilt as a replacement for the 216 in my '52 Fleetline. Does anyone here have any experience with a machine shop they'd recommend? I'm looking for someone who doesn't wet their pants at the site of Chevy engine that has six-in-a-row, and who doesn't have to be bird-dogged throughout the rebuild. I don't mind hauling this thing a distance to bring it to the right shop, but then that part about not having to bird-dog the guy becomes doubly important. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Scott;

I may have a lead for you. I have an old school set of guys running a local NAPA shop. They all have resto cars as their daily drivers. They will know who's who. Shoot me a PM and I'll forward you their info.

Scott, I can give you the name of the guy who built the 216 engine for my '53 truck. He knows and builds all types of Chevrolet engines (Fords, too). He is in Stone Mountain, send me a PM if interested.

SimS and bajones235: thank you both for your replies. I tried to send each of you a PM, without success. Apparently, you have to have a bunch of posts before they'll allow you to PM another member. If possible, could you please send me this information via email at [email protected] ?

Thanks,
