I just got this in the 1/2 inch drive. Needed to replace my old one cause it would give very different readings from time to time. I have used the spring bar for years but it requires you to take your eyes off to see the scale, and that scale is getting harder to see. Clicker is simple and safe for me and my 2 handed approach. One on the shaft and one on the handle. So I look for length in the handle. It was on sale, and works well.

HF Torque wrenches best deal out there. The locking know at the bottom is unique to them... but they are rated highly:

Carcraft magazine:

http://blog.harborfreight.com/car-craft-reviews-torque-wrench/

“… we also tested Harbor Freight’s 1/2-inch clicker torque wrench, and it was also very close. It also has a range of 20 to 150 lb-ft and a lifetime warranty. Accuracy after five consecutive tests at 70 lb-ft ranged from 68.8 lb-ft (-1.2) to 70.3 (+0.3), with an average error of 0.30 ft-lb over five tests. It doesn’t get much better than that for a mechanical torque wrench.”

Not releasing the preload will kill ANY torque wrench. Always set it back to ZERO when done.
