I found a forum on this subject that's a couple years old, and it didn't give me much hope. So, I'll ask here. I have to replace one of the rear axle lock rings on my 3/4 ton truck, and can't seem to find one anywhere. Been scouring the normal parts sites with no luck. Can anyone recommend a place to find one?
Found the problem when I decided to check the brakes on my new project. Looks pretty poor, so I thought since I'm going to have to replace all the brakes and wheel cylinders I'd replace the springs too. All I can find are spring kits for 1/2 ton trucks. Are the brake spring kits the same on the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton trucks? If not, I'd like a source for the spring kits for my 3600.
Any assistance you can offer would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Aren't the 3/4 ton axles retained by 8 bolts at the axle flange? What year truck are we discussing here?

I'm not sure what you mean by lockring. Is that part of the brakes you are referring to or is this 2 separate problems.

Must be the lock ring for the axle spindle nuts, maybe doing that to take off the rear drum? Brake hardware is different between a 1/2ton and 3/4 ton.

I have some of the "spiders" lock rings that go between the brg. adj. nuts.
I also have the Napa part number of the springs & hold down parts, depending on what year it is.

Maybe you'll find what you need here.

I'm assuming you're referring to the spindle nut and lock washer assembly.

The 14 Bolt rears are interchangable with the Eaton rears.

Thanks for the info. Yes, I'm referring to the axle spindle nut lock ring. (Now I know what they are called) This lock ring looked a lot like the spindle nut lock rings on the 1 ton C-series I've worked on in the early 70's, so I stopped by the local Chevy dealer with my good ring in hand and talked to the parts guy there. We compared the rings and they were an exact match. Bought 2 of them for under $20.
