As I am installing the doors onto the cab, I noticed the strike plates appear to be from a 47-51 model chevy truck and the door latches appear to be from 52-55 chevy truck. Having trouble getting doors to latch completely and align properly. Are these parts compatible/interchangeable - am I needing to find 47-51 doors to make this work? or can I simply install strike plates from 52/55 onto my cab? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I think that both the latch and catch must match the year-style of the door.

Yes, you need strike plates that match the latches in the doors.
It would be a major project to alter the doors to accept a different style door latch. I may have to do just that if I can't find someone who has a very nice 52-54 to trade for a very nice 51 door.

So if understand correctly 52Carl, I can use the strike plates for 52-55 can on my older cab to work with the newer doors the PO must have used. Thanks for your help in advance
