Hello, I found this for such a decent price I had to grab it. It was so complete it deserves to be saved. I love the look. No model number. I know its a 3/4 ton. Has the 8 lug open drive. Is registered as a 47. In face most of the casting numbers I have seen are 47. So Its cool that its one of the last of the series. It had not been started since 1984 or so. New battery and bypass the gas tank. Had to hit the carb with a hammer to free up the butterfly. PB Blaster. Gotta love that stuff. Changed the oil. Radiator holds water and had anto freez in it so the block is not cracked. Started up pretty quick. Has a 216. With the smallest spark plugs I have ever seen in a truck. 10mm? The entire front above windshield needs to be cut out and replaced. I have a patch piece. 30 years of leak in the vee at the top made the grand canyon or rust on the inside. It will never be rust free I am afraid, but I can get her back on the road looking pretty decent then someone else can have a go at her. Looks like if its a stake bed they only made 1414 of them?? If its a flat bed less than 50? I have a front cross member from a 42 GMC I was thinking about putting it in this truck and re-powering it with a 270 ci. or 302 I still have not done a compression check on the engine. I was hoping it was shot but it runs pretty darn goor with very little smoke. I'm getting the brakes together right now, and have already had trhe gas tank cleaned and lined. Like to know more about the truck if anyone has anything to tell me.

The stake bed looks correct for that model, so it's probably original.
