Should have some pictures to post in a couple of weeks. Question for you experts: I got replacement rubber bumpers for the hood. The 6 thin ones I put along the lower sides of the hood. The package included 4 thicker bumpers and I can't figure out where they go. Should have taken more pictures before disassembling it. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,275 Renaissance Man | | Renaissance Man Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 10,275 | Hey Denny, I have an unmolested upper baffle of unknown vintage which is missing the two holes for the inner 2 bumpers. It fits my 49 truck perfectly. Just missing two holes. Any ideas? Carl

I've got a '50 and a '54, both have 8 holes in the lower lip of the upper baffle. It would seem logical that all of them from '50 to at least '54 would be the same. And, it makes no sense that they would change them for the short period that they were used in '55. So, again, applying a little logic, I think it would be safe to say that they were the same, i.e., 8 holes from '50 to the end of the run for the AD's. If yours only has 6 holes, then I think it would safe to say that it is pre-1950. It's possible that they added the two extra bumpers along with the change from a three point cab mount to a four point because of the problems they had earlier. I do have an upper baffle on the shelf with 6 holes but I have no idea what it came off of. Denny Graham Sandwich, IL dg Well, it sounds to me like you need a pre-50 truck to go with that pre-50 upper baffle. 300 radios and only 2 ADs? Carl

So-----I've got an example of both, that's all I need, for right now that is!
Besides, I learned my lesson with those radios, wish now I only had two examples of them. The only way to get rid of an old radio now a days, is to have a huge bond fire. A scrap drive might be the plight of multiple car/truck collectors down the road as the younger generation matures. Already seeing some of that with all the muscle cars beginning to dominate the car shows. Denny G No worries DG. I was just selfishly attempting to validate my need for three of them by talking you into another one. Carl
