Does anyone know where I can get the "proper" seal and metal ring that seals the body of the blower motor to the firewall on a 1947-1953 Chevrolet 3100 pickup? My rubber seal is completely dry rotted and coming apart. PLEASE let me know!! Thank you.

From another post on this board:
"Make your own" "Inner tube works well if the gasket is thin. Thicker gasket can be cut from a mud flap. For a cushion gasket, I have used foam tool box liners. Grease pencil will mark it just fine. Scissors and a razor blade. Watch out for those sneaky fingers blood is not a factory option."

Figured this one out!! The firewall seal around my blower motor is dry rotted and cracked. Found and old 4 speed shifter boot I had from my '64 Chevrolet Pickup that was still in good shape. Cut the tapered end off of it and left about 1/2 of rubber standing up from the base. The boot flange fit perfectly under the metal ring with the three holes and fit tight to the motor. Shifter boot .....now blower motor firewall seal.
