Anyone know the factory color for the metal bed strips that hold the boards down? I am assuming the angle strips welded to the sides were body color, the other strips were probably black like the boards. I must be just about done if I am worrying about this!

You are correct. Angle strips body color, bed strips black but am not sure whether flat, gloss or satin.

Thanks for the help. It was hard to paint those new boards black, but I am a slave to original.

Mark,

Slave to original. Did you use gloss or semi-gloss coal tar to "paint" the boards cool .

After discussion with the local paint guys I used a flat black porch paint that was recommended as being pretty tough. After sanding the boards I put it on without primer per their instructions. It looks real nice. I have the same paint on my porch (not black) and it has held up pretty well.

I should have read this before posting my question, can you let me know where I can call about the black porch paint?
