Does anyone know of a Power Steering Conversion kit for a 1941 Chevy 1/2 ton pickup with a 216 engine? Or maybe a way to make the steering easier?

Wayne,
Contact ABS in Orange. 714-771-6549 www.abspowerbrake.com.
They can offer you some guidance. I have used a number of their brake & steering kits for many years. I have not done a 41 however. They will also likely be at the LB swap meet this weekend.

The steering should be easy in the stock form. The steering components may be worn, damaged, or out of adjustment. Non-stock tires may also make steering difficult. I have let a number of people in poor physical condition drive my pickup and non had any issue with the steering.

I agree. 1941 was the first year for the reciprocating ball steering box design that was used from then on.
If the box is in good shape and full of oil it should steer quite easy. Of course fat tires will have a negative affect on this.

The stock steering is, in theory, just about the best type of steering box you can get. It may need to be rebuilt and even if it doesn't, a good idea would be to check it and be sure the bearings and bushing are in good condition. These boxes are easy to rebuild and if you can adjust them out before you reinstall it in the truck, you should have just about the best you can have.
