Due to lack of space, too many projects etc. I've been thinking about getting rid of my trucks, parts etc. all as a packaged deal. I would rather a collector get them, and not a cutem upper. The 58 short fleetside is the survivor, not perfect but not many unrestored like it. The others are okay except for some rust, both have driver step off and one had cab off. Didn't want to advertise yet, more of looking for advice. Don't want to do it but kinda need to.

I recently bought a 2 ton and a 3 1/2 ton GMC from a guy in the same situation. He put them on eBay. He said seeing the first one go was tough, but after that, he's relieved to see one leave.

I have over a dozen GMC's. Most of them larger ones. I am content with just getting them to where they run around our truck lot. Only a couple of them with hydraulic brakes stop. Of course the ones with straight air are so simple to fix that there is no reason not to have brakes on them.

I am 70 years old. Once I either fall over dead or become disabled, I expect everything to be auctioned off and probably just bring pennies on the dollar of what I paid for them.

You are wiser than most to recognize that. I just established a trust to deal with my stuff. I also put a transfer on death beneficiary on my vehicle titles. I'll likely pass my '38 on to my son before I become plant food. When/if it becomes more of a chore than a pleasure it's time to pass it to it's next life.

I am now planning what sounds like similar inheritance/legacy strategies as yours. My wife has zero interest in the trucks that all have been well-restored/maintained (on my side-jobs money).

My son died young, and if my daughter (and/or her offspring) have no interest in owning/maintaining trucks that will have trust-funds to maintain them, I have a plan B and a plan C for who will get the trucks.

just thought I would throw this out there....I run a truck shelter. All trucks welcome and cared for. If they are unwanted, I will take them in. Give them to me....don't just dump them on the side of the road.

Only one thing to remember....the moment you either sell it, or draw your last breath (whichever comes first) it will belong to someone else...to do with it whatever THEY want. You can't control it from the grave.
We all hope our stuff ends up with someone who will love and cherish it the way we do, but in reality there is absolutely no way to guarantee that.
