For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 255 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Sep 2011 Posts: 255 | Howdy; I've read the 6 page thread on Dynamat and the other sound deadeners, and watched a number of you-tube videos on the topic but I'm wondering if anyone has had any personal experience with using any of them on the ceiling of their cab, or whether they've used something else successfully. That some of the deadeners come off easily when heated concerns me that a day in the hot sun might cause them to sag. Suggestions?

Held up fine through the summer heat. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 Bubba - Curmudgeon | | Bubba - Curmudgeon Joined: Sep 2001 Posts: 29,269 | One layer of single-foil-side bubble wrap (foil side up): attached with 3M Super 77 Multipurpose Spray Adhesive over 10 years ago. It is holding up fine.

It was easy to install and appears to have adhered well. Time will tell of course. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 888 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2004 Posts: 888 | I used the Reflectex (Home Depot, 50 beans maybe) foil bubble both sides with the 3M 77 Adhesive also. I used on the roof, doors and under firewall. Seems to still be adhered

I costs about have that of Dynamat. I painted the cab ceiling first to give a clean surface to stick to. It's been there for about five years now. I've used it all over the inside of my cab. I hope I never have to remove any because it STICKS! | | |
