I had the cam break in my 216 in my '41 PU and decided to replace the engine with a 261. I also decided to go to a T5 tranny from an S-10. Of course, the original brake and clutch pedals have no place to mount. Any idea where to find a source for the brake/clutch/ master cylinder set up that would have mounting brackets? I may have to separate the pedals to work or mount correctly. Any help would be appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken you can bolt the 261 to your '41 bell housing.

But if you want to change the pedal set-up, I moved your question here. I'm sure someone here has done it.

It might but, I was told I need to get a '48 to '53 bellhousing so the T5 will bolt up and it will bolt to the cross member properly.

Someone sells the modified bellhousing you are looking for, I will try and find out, but someone will most likely come on here with the answer before I get back. Dave

Or use an adapter/ spacer plate withnthe original 41 bellhousing.

Thanks guys. I found the bell housing I was looking for in AR when I was there last week and visited a couple of restoration shops.
I still have the problem of mounting the clutch/brake pedals correctly. I may have to go to an under the dash after market set up. Not sure who carries these items with the best results for the swap.

We did an under floor mount of the clutch and brake, Vacuum assist. See pics in my photo bucket http://s1191.photobucket.com/user/MortgageLaw/library/1941%20Chevy%20Truck

Great pics MortgageLaw. A number of the shots will be helpful. Can you tell me where you got the brake/clutch assembly? Was it complete or did you have to fab anything. I did not keep the original tranny but changed to a T5 from a Sonoma. No place to mount anything on it. Thanks.

I just purchased a Jeep TJ clutch and brake assembly. I'm anxious to see how it works. I needed a hydraulic clutch for my application. The same may be able to be done on yours. Ford and GM both used hydraulic clutches on the T5.

They used a Wilwood setup on this truck.

I got my TJ pedal setup Saturday.

I held it up in place and snapped this picture. I kind of like where the pedals are going to land. I may have to remove/move the bracket for the brake light switch for slightly more pedal. Other than that, they look like they belong there.

you need to use the 41 bellhousing because it has the rear motor mounts on it

Hoozat,
Looks like you used an adapter plate. Did you make this or purchase it? Is it 1/2" thick? I also tried to see if you have any bolts in the side of the T5 to help hold the pedal assembly?

Looks pretty good in yours. Does this mount under the dash so they are hanging pedals?

The '48 to '53 bellhousing also has the rear motor mounts but a modern tranny will bolt right up to it. No adapter plate needed. I just need to shorten the front spline/shaft.
