I just purchased a 1955 Chevy 6400. Some modifications were made to the rear of the frame. I was wondering what frames (years, models) would be a drop-in replacement for the one I have.

Any suggestions?

55 1st series or 2nd series? big difference, 55.2 > 59 are pretty much the same, 55.1 would be siilar to previous years, at least 54, maybe older

It is a 2nd series. So you think any frame up to '59 would work? What about a 4000, 5000 vs. 6000 models? Are they different?

Does anyone know where to look to find a new frame?

LewyBoys,

Not sure you will ever find a "new" frame, but you might find a used one in a junk yard. I might have on here if you're up for a road trip to Maryland...

Any 1955-2 thru 1957 4400, 4500 or 6400 frame will be the same as what you have. The 1958/59 frames are different.

Thanks for the identification of which frames will work. I don't expect to find a new one but wanted to identify which truck models to search for to find one. Thanks for the tips.
