First off, thanks to ya'll and Stovebolt, been a plethora of knowledge and help.
Finally got my bed back together and on the truck. P.O has cut out all the cross sills and did a back yard floor job w/ 2 X 6's. I sourced all the cross sills and bed strips used, bought Mar K's (excellent to do business with) oak bed kit, angle strips, and bolt kit.
Wasn't nearly as bad as I would have thought/read about, but it did take a 12 pack to finish.
