My son and I are making great progress on our 53. We have the body panels at the sand blaster...cab and frame are close to disassembled for some good ole blasting.

We have our new 235 back together, painted with our offy and headers on. 2 new rebuilt carbs, It is really coming together nicely thanks to help on this forum!

We performed the tech tip to add an external oil filter by tapping the block, etc. We are now mounting an external oil filter in between the alternator and the headers using the Derale Remote Filter mount kit. I like it as it has the plumbing on the correct side to minimize the piping etc.

My question is this, "Has anyone used the Derale kit (25709) on a 235?"

The reason I ask is it seems small compared to the old AC PF5 oil filter I use on a later model 235 engine I previously owned.

Any issues with this kit? What is the filter size that is appropriate?
