What is the inside diameter of a 216 intake manifold where it bolts to the head? Same question for a 235. I would like to be able to identify which is which.
I also wonder about the performance of a 2 carb 216 manifold on a 261. Who has some experience
and/or opinion.

The 216 has an 1-1/4 opening and the 235/261 has an 1-1/2, I believe. Anyway, the 235/261 is bigger. You could ream the 2- carber 216 manifold out if there is enough meat on the casting, since the engines all have the same bore spacing on the manifolds.

The 216 dual intake will work fine on 235's or 261's. You will need to buy the intake rings(?) for the 235 or 261 and take it all to a machinist to have him machine it to size. Cost shouldn't run over $20-$30.
