My 49 hasn't got anything under the dash, if I put something in the glovebox it'll drop onto my feet! What should be there? How is it held in place? Thanks

That would be a PO epic fail IMHO.

The PO of my 49 made the glove box out of HVAC metal duct material. He even included the stiffening cross-bends. It fits like factory and will go back in when I put everything back together. The cardboard ones are cheesy IMHO. (Don't judge me Brad smile )

And Carl, that's why I made my own from panel board. Just as
ridged as the original one was, which lasted for 60 years,
and since I only need it to last 28 years, I'm happy with it.
