For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 97 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 97 | I might be able to get my hands on a crusty/rusty pair of 1940 long bed fenders and wonder if they would work on a 46 3/4 ton. They appear similar and I thought someone on the bolt would know for sure if they would work. Are the 40 long bed sides also the same as 46? I could kill two birds with one stone if they are .... thanks in advance lane

There is no difference between half ton and three-quarter ton fenders. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 97 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 97 | Thanks sput ..... just what i needed to know. Do you think I could use the 40 bed and fenders on my long bed 46? With the necessary adjustments of course .... lane

The fenders could be relatively easily adapted to a 1946 bed, and if done properly no one could tell the difference.
The beds have lots of differences, including a scrip tailgate and a different tailgate chain system. I have not studied the bed differences in depth. Anything can be made to fit but it will look like a frankentruck. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish. | | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 97 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 97 | Thanks for your input .... just trying to find a pair of rear fenders that I can afford .... the glass ones with shipping prices so much higher this year are all but out of the question. I could at least repair metal ones if they are not too far gone. I have not had much luck in my search for rear metal ones and honestly did not realize that 1/2 and 3/4 ton were the same ..... somewhere along the way I got the notion they were different. Thanks again.
