I don't like the look of the step plates and have heard it causes corrosion. Not to mention the holes that have to be drilled into the running boards that I spent weeks restoring. If mine get scuffed too badly over time, it would be quick and simple task to lay down a new coat of shiny black paint.

The hardware always has it in stock for touch ups. I flows really nice and you can't tell where the touch up is.

Not only is the bed liner resistant to scratching, it gives the look of rubber covers, which were available for that size running board. And the plates I got were old, so when I polished them up they look just used enough I don't worry about scratching them. | | |
