Hi,All! A friend gave me a Rochester B,since mine had a stuck "BB",in the fuel discharge. This came off a '54 2-ton 6500,with a ' 261,B.T.W. I got it torn-down,and let it soak over the week-end. Today,I re-built it. When I tried to put the base gasket on my intake, the bolts were off about 1/4 inch! Spread was shorter than intake on my '55 261. I tried the "new" carb, without the gasket-SAME thing! I swapped the lower part,(throttle body),and it bolted right up. I just cleaned the original base gasket good, and dumped some gas in the carb.,to prime the pump. Started right up-every time, but no gas to carb-1/2-full tank! Ran the battery dead, trying to get gas to the carb! flipped the seat forward,and-LOOKY HERE! I forgot to hook the fuel line back up from the pick-up tube!! L.O.L. Maybe,if I get all my ducks in a row,I'll have this thing running tomorrow?? If you can't laugh at your mistakes, don't make any! Me?...I'm laughing all the time!! Have a GREAT day!!

Nice try.....you know somebody needs to keep verifying that motors still don't run on air alone. Thanks for checking.

I,ve got some kind of blockage in my tank. I took it out this Spring,to freshen it up a bit, before installing a new wiring harness. I connected all of the lines,(today),but still no fuel! I replaced the 5" cab-to-frame line, and blew-out the frame-to pump line. It seemed constricted,so I'm going to replace that line,as well. I was getting some fuel,at initial start-up,but then...not a drop. With 10 gallons in the tank, you'd think the gas would "siphon".but only got a drop or two,at the pump feed line. Same story at the tank outlet,(bottom of P.S. cab). That's what makes me believe I have some kind of blockage in the tank itself! I had the filler neck plugged, while in storage, but, there's got to be a reason! I'll let you know what I find out tomorrow. Probably in for another good laugh! B.T.W...For the short period of time the engine was running,I could sure tell the difference in the carb. already! I haven't even got it adjusted yet,and it IDLES!! One down,??? to go??

I wouldn't run it until you take a look inside the gas tank so you don't plug up another carb. I'd take the fuel sender out and take a look with a flashlight.
