Dear Friends, I have a 60 One Ton dump that has a motor from a 65 GMC (2 ton) Motor runs great and is quite a power house. I want to see about changing this cartridge style filter over to something I can spin off/on. I have some older Chevy v8s (283/327) where I purchased an adapter and changed the filter to use a regular spin on...
Do you folks know if they make one for a 65-GMC-V6... I think it is a 305.

I did this conversion about 30 years ago! I had a '65 3/4-ton G.M.C.,with a 305E. I took the old canister to the F.L.A.P.S. with me,and they sold me an adapter. At that time, they had one in stock. If I'm not mistaken,I think it was the same one used on the early small-block Chev's. You may have to order one, these days. You may want to take your canister with you, just in case. hope this helps.

It takes an awful big dog to weigh a ton.
