So recently I bought a 55 Cameo truck with a pretty nice bed on it. I have a guy interested in the bed for $4500, that includes all the chrome, complete bumpers, spare tire carrier, and great bed sides.

I am not sure I want to separate the bed from the truck unless I am getting a decent price for the bed.

What are prices for beds going for?

Thanks for any input.

Why would you want to? I think they are rare. Just asking.

Sell the truck complete, might be one less fake truck that way.

Don, the only "fake" would be if the buyer was trying to pass off as an "unmolested original", the factory just 'picked' a 3100 from the line and put a Cameo package on it, if the Cameo package is complete, any 55-57 3100 it's put on will be a Cameo

kcode, 4500 is probably a minimum if the package is really complete, the trim pieces are what's scarce, repro sides are around $500 ea .... and it'd still leave you with a truck to sell

Bill

Thanks for pointing that out Bill. It seems that so many things are cobbled together and then passed on stating they are original. By virtue of age it's becoming nessasarry to source stuff from multiple vehicles to make a good one. Just wish people would few up, many are really quality vehicles when they are done.

Thanks Bill. The bed really is in good shape as are all the parts. The trim and bumper ends will need re-chromed, but honestly it's in good shape.

He wants to put in on a GMC truck. He lives in Canada, so shipping the parts is cheaper than shipping the whole truck. I have a price in my head, so I will let him know I will stick to that number.
