One piece drive shaft?

Totally open drive-shaft and u-joint(s)?

Is there a short piece of enclosed drive-shaft at the transmission?

It looks like the "standard" SM420 transmission, which was used with fully open drive-lives from 1955 to 1967. And, the 48-54 version can be easily converted to open drive-line.

Post any codes/numbers that you can find on the transmission.
