I emailed them and told them the same tail light was used up to 1956. This is the response I received.
We received your request concerning the T/L / Brakelight gasket that we offer for the 1950 Chevrolet Suburb. Our research has not come up with anything as far as that fitting through 1956. I might suggest you can purchase this part and you may return for a refund if this doesn't work. All the parts in the assemblies are the same, except for the 12v bulb from 1955-2nd series onwards. So, the almost-identical 1955-2nd onwards 12v assembly has a different part number.
Added later - I think I am wrong on this. It looks like the assembly changed in 1955-2nd. The assembly should be the same for 47-55st

The only 47-55st difference that I can think of is how the connection/lead is made from the cab-body to the rear doors.
That should not affect the gasket/seal.

you would think they'd know that.
