Lots of work on Brad's part ... pure enjoyment (and references) for you!

For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2014 Posts: 92 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: May 2014 Posts: 92 | I'm restoring the above truck and am trying to figure out what to do about the suspension. The truck is completely original as far as I can tell. I have two questions:
How many leaves should the springs have front and back?
How would you tell if your springs are worn out?
I'm new here and I have been amazed at the wealth of knowledge and the spirit of helpfulness shown by the members. Thank you for your help. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 140 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 140 | I don't know about the spring count, but to determine if your springs need to be replaced you first do a visual inspection and look for broken leafs. Next would be to check the ride height and compare it to factory specs. | | |
