I have a lead on a great 5 window cab, but it's a 54 or 55 1st. Would a front end from earlier AD's look ridiculous on it?

Lots of folks have swapped out the front sheet metal just because they preferred that style. If you want & like a 54 cab but like the early front sheet metal then do it.
It is YOUR truck && the trucks that went down under to Australia was a mixed of the late & earlycabs & sheet metal....joe

I agree, although it might put some purists nose out of joint but as Joe already said it's your truck.
It's been done many times before and if it saves another truck it's fine by me.
To be honest most average, dare I say 'uneducated' folks probably wont even notice. grin

I am close to being a purist with my trucks, but that is a personal preference. If that combination does not look ridiculous to you, do what you like.
