I am running into an issue with the front springs where they attach to the rear mounts - the leaf that wraps halfway around the spring eye is hitting the mount and preventing me from being able to shove the eye far enough up to let the bolt slide through. I've tried all angles and can't get the darn thing up there enough.
Is tension between the spring and mount required for functional purposes, or should I grind down that leaf until there is enough clearance to allow for easy mounting?

Unless the spring shop (ESPO Springs and Things) bushed them wrong, which would mean that the old leaf springs were also in backward. The non-threaded bushing is in this end of the spring. I also lined them up side by side with the old leaf springs to be sure. The old ones were the same way. Are you saying that the end with the "wraparound leaf" should be the front? It will not allow the spring to go deep enough into the mount. Seems like the spring maker cut it too long.
