Installed it as it should be. Here's the issue: the pedal and the pushrod on the booster don't line up. And, even if they did, the clutch rod hits the pushrod and pushes it. Hoping someone else has encountered and solved this issue. Here's some pics: http://i.imgur.com/QC3avWel.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/SeZDU5Sl.jpgEdit: Checked out CPP instructions, it says this bracket doesn't work with stock clutch. So HOW IN THE HELL does one get boosted brakes in the stock located with a stock clutch?

Could I maybe fab a mount extension that moves the booster and mc further towards the rear? | | | | | Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 367 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2013 Posts: 367 | 3B, I don't see a clutch pedal or linkage in that pic. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy jrdamien, I'm sorry the clutch pedal cannot be seen, but the stock clutch and linkage was installed and everything cleared the booster/master cylinder. My customer brought me the booster/master cylinder to install, and I cannot remember which supplier he purchased it from. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2004 Posts: 1,897 | what year are we talking about?

3B, since it's not in the pics, did you move the bracket to make it work? Or can you explain what you did? I don't really see what was done in those pics to make it work out. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 6,100 | Hy jrdamien, as you can see in the photos the major diameter of the booster is parallel with the back of the transmission, and the master cylinder projects towards the rear of the truck from there. The kit came with a bracket to mount the booster/master in that position, it also came with a longer pushrod (adjustable) to span the distance from the stock pedal to the relocated booster/master, I wish I could remember which supplier he purchased the kit from, but I can't, sorry. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 | I installed the CPP brake booster and dual circuit MC on my original engine (216) '52. No issues and the brake pushrod does not hit the transmissions or other levers. There is supposed to be a spacer between the brake lever and the pushrod to take up the mis-alignment. Grade 8 bolt is the safest choice.

The end of the clutch rod engages the pushrod on the booster about an inch on mine. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 152 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jun 2014 Posts: 152 | my kit (49 3100 stock clutch) the pushrod position looks same as yours and connected to the pedal with a spacer on the connector bolt. in other words your pic maybe correct, your just missing the spacer and bolt to fill the gap, no? not my truck but you can see gray spacer here http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/ll224/decosse01/Chevy/P4230728.jpg

But it's still going to interfere with the clutch rod. | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 | Yes, my kit came with a bracket to mount the assembly to the original MC bracket (IIRC). I meant to say "spacer" is required and fixed my post above accordingly. My spacer is only about 1/2 to 3/4" again IIRC. Works perfectly. Photo

I am wrestling with the same question - want power brakes with the stock 216/3spd on my '51. All of the kit makers say the booster won't fit. Also, did you have to mod or swap the crossmember? | | | | | Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2010 Posts: 1,001 | Sorry, that is the only photo I have and it shows the only modification necessary which was to the original cross member. If you look closely, you can see that I stair step notched the cross member to clear the MC (you can just see the first step or flat directly under the MC).
