For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: May 2006 Posts: 24 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2006 Posts: 24 | I am down to the frame stripping on a frame-off resto project, and I discovered what appears to be some 68-year-old lettering stenciled or stamped on the frame. It's on the pass. side inside the frame rail near the rear axle. I am dying to know what it might have said when the truck was new. In part, I CAN read (not 100% sure)"BODY BUILDER xxxxxxxxx FRAME XXXX" - I am assuming it says something like "Body builder must not drill or heat frame" or something like that. Anyone ever seen this lettering intact? Got pictures?? Any idea exactly what it said??? Thanks folks...
Stovebolts are like women; as they mellow with age, it's harder to get 'em to turn over on a cold morning, but once they're warmed up, LOOK OUT!
