John and Peggy has shown interest in building their rock garden with rock donations from around the country and around the world.
Vicki and I have picked out a cool one and Scott Ward is thinking about bringing this one to the reunion. http://i580.photobucket.com/albums/ss243/48bigtrucks/Mobile%20Uploads/IMG_20140713_134751993_HDR.jpg

Peggy says John has room on his truck.
If you decide to bring one, make sure you tag it with who you are and where you got it from. Softball to football size would probably be the best.
If you are flying in, smaller is OK also.

Hopefully we can get this rock rolling before John sees this thread.

Don & Vicki

I brought her some petrified wood from our property several years ago. I didn't mark it so I imagine it is now in the mix with other unmarked rocks.

I had not thought about petrified wood. We have a nice little chunk from mid missouri I found years ago. It's just sitting in my computer room on a shelf.

Thanks
Don

Cletis,

Oh no fears. John has such a good memory, I'm sure he knows which one it is. *I* am the one who can't remember. But I fear as the rock wall grows, it will get harder for even John to remember.

This will be fun. When people have asked about bringing a rock to Homecoming, I usually say about the size of a loaf of bread. Of course, we have gotten some bigger than that.

WE b Old brought to Homecoming when this first started.

Peg

I had a rock all picked out for you, Peggy, I'll have to bring it another time, maybe to homecoming.

I hope we will get a chance to get a picture of the area we want to build the Stovebolt Wall. It's near the pond.

The area looks a bit different. We've plowed a "scenic highway" so the wall will abut that.

I think it will look cool and it can grow. We'll start in the middle where there already is an indent.

George!! Look forward to TWO rocks!! Thanks,
Peg

The only rocks I have are between my ears. grin The wife collects rocks too. I'll have to ask her if I can "borrow" one.

We were pretty spoiled in Kentucky with all those rock walls (we didn't have one but a farm we helped had a really neat one, and they were everywhere). Somewhat the same when you drive over into Virginia.

Tell Mrs. Tiny I would take good care of it. Oh, and to think of it as a new life experience for her rock. Yea, that should work. How many rocks get to meet other rocks from around the country?

Every time we, my parents or any family member would would travel I'd always ask for rocks. Matter of fact my brother & I are taking all the large rocks from our parents house since both have now passed away. We both would always bring rocks home from our many travels around the midwest. Had friends say we were crazy for taking them, but we told them that those rocks are memories of our childhood & our travels with & without our parents. But then Pat & I are taking apart our fathers 20x30 brick patio that is made with bricks names embossed on them, Pop was a brick collector.

I'll do a bit different than robbing her rock collection. I'll bring a piece of Silverdale Stone. Some of the finest architectural limestone in the world. It's quarried a few miles East of here.

Wow, that's nice stone.

Wouldn't you know. Someone sent me a "stone art" image where the person had made a truck out of stone that looked like your stuff Tiny. And of course, I can't find it now.

Hmph.
