Yes, but, since its apart, why not take the head clear apart for a cleaning. Its easy to get the valves out with a valve spring remover. Once the valves are out, you can really get the head clean and ready for inspection. This is a good time to lap the valve seats and add new seals if the head uses them. Nothing to hard even for someone who never has had a head apart. Just keep each piece in order of removal so it goes right back the same way.
If you can not wiggle the valve stem in the valve guide, then nothing is worn to bad. If you can wiggle the stem, then you want to have them looked at for replacement. The valves are harden steel so you can wire brush them for a cleaning. You will want to look at the outer edge where it contacts the head, thats where the valve seat is. You are looking for dips, dishes, gouges, and cracks. Lapping compound is available from most parts stores. When you spin the valve on the seat, the compound wears away the crude and leaves a dull ring that is easy to see.
