Does anyone know if the inside of all the fenders are supposed to be body color or did they come black? Same question for the wheel side of the inner fender up front and the bedside behind the tires in the back. The truck will be red but I'm not sure what to do inside the wheel wells. Thanks !!! mh

Inner fenders were black on both sides (semigloss?).
My guess is that bedsides were body color, even behind fenders.

I think the parts where dipped because a lot of the nos parts have runs. They might have done a little sanding as needed on the exterior and sprayed body color. A low gloss black looks close. My first '49 had very glossy inner fenders. I ended up stripping and painting with gloss black Centari paint. When people would look under the hood the responses would always vary from "hey, someone got it right" to "that looks dumb - they were never that glossy" :rolleyes: | | |
