New to classic trucks, have been wanting one since attending a show earlier this year in Tennessee. Was fortunate enough to come across a 1949 Chevrolet 3100 that all it needed was driving. Drive train had been updated to a 235 from the stock 216. Enjoying learning about it and hope to learn more from this website.

Come down anytime Joker. That '52 of yours is a good looking street rod that is probably great to cruise in.

There are quite a few good looking rides at the cruise night in Tyler on the second Thursday night of each month. You ought to try to make one of those.

I spent part of my childhood in that area, between Tyler and Frankston.

Thanks for the shout out EchoBravoSierra, didn't know if any Bolter's were familiar with the 155/175 area. Hope you enjoy this forum as much as I have.

It has provided me with a lot of helpful information about my '49 Chevy.

Hey txpete,

I am between Tyler and Palestine off Hwy 155.
They are having "truck night" theme for the Cruise Night on Sept. 11th at the Whataburger in Tyler. You ought to try to make it and see some great rides.

Hi Joker,
I tried it on my wife's computer without logging in and the link worked for me. Maybe they were having problems at the website when you tried.
Let me know if it still doesn't work for you. I need to post some new pics but my laptop crashed and am waiting to get a new one.

wow, what a neat truck, do you have s-10 transmission,
had one in my 52 but I had a machine shop to do a little work
and make my gear shift taller.... your shifter looks like
it is in the same place as mine..

Yes Joker it is an S-10 five speed. Also 10 bolt rear, front disc brakes on original chassis. Since the pictures, I built and installed wood bed rails out of spalted pecan and black walnut, and replaced the S-10 wheels with steel wheels.

I am interested in changing the shifter to look more period correct. May have to get with you on what you did to yours.
