Hello everyone,
I have just realized that my 46 chevy 3/4 ton has a later bed on it which means I won't be able to use the existing bed sides, which are in fair shape. There were no rear fenders on the truck when I bought it and the reason may be that the rear wheels won't fit under AD fenders. I wanted to try and keep the bed sides as the lengths are almost almost identical (according to Mar-K) but what about where the rear fender falls or fits. Will I have to buy new bed sides in order to make 46 fenders [fiberglass] work? Is there that much difference in the way the 2 bedsides are cut, that is for the wheels and so forth. The splash apron matched up and bolted to the sides so I am really at a loss for what to do. One thing I know for sure is that I wanted the 46 fenders because of the look. Help!

The later bed is wider, I think that's the main difference.

Harold, have you ever heard of using 46 fenders on a 47-54 AD bed. I can always buy or find an AD front panel and AD tailgate. Since I don't have a pair of 46 3/4 ton fenders to compare to I worry about buying fiberglass fenders down the road and them not fitting up with the bed sides I am trying to restore/redo ...... surely they bolt up differently or do they.
