I have looked tirelessly through every catalog I have -- Chevy Duty, RB's Auto, the Truck Shop, Brothers, Jim Carters, and LMC Trucks -- and I can't find these anywhere!

Does anyone know where I can buy a set of new chrome window frames for my '54?

The only way I know to get them chromed is to pull them off and send them to the chrome shop.

By the way, those should be stainless

all i know is that the ones off a truck wont fit :rolleyes:

I have bought a couple sets of the truck stainless outside window molding off eBay in the past two years.

Tclederman : What search terms did you use?

There is no single search criteria, so usually I search as follows:

1954 chev* truck
or
54 chev* truck

and, if I have time (not often), I play with the following:

1947-1954 chev* truck
47-54 chev* truck
1948-1954 chev* truck
48-54 chev* truck
1948-1953 chev* truck
48-53 chev* truck

I think you can now save up to 30 search criteria and this is helpful if you do not type well/fast (my two-fingered typing is painfully slow).

With these broad searches, it is sometimes helpful to run the search and then select sub categories on the left (vehicles and parts, for examples). I am not interested in toys and models so I eliminate these. Select the sub categories you want, and then search again. Then save the search (for future use).

That helps a lot -- if you don't know how to search properly, you can meander around and get nowhere on that site!

Bob's Chevy Parts in Ohio, (Canfield, I think,) usually keeps some of these in stock. They are stainless. He also keeps a lot of other original stuff if you are ever looking. I have seen him at the Charlotte Swap Meet several times.

Try "Mothertrucker" He is sometimes in the swap meet section. I don't have his E mail address, maybe someone out there does. He is located in Arizona.
I Purchased some inner door window mouldings [SS] from him for a 52 and was very very happy with them.

Search Criteria:
I look in Ebay Motors, Trucks and Cars and also Trucks and Collector Cars. They will yield different results. My final criteria in the little box is 194* Chev* or 195* Chev and also the same with GMC. I usually add truck or pickup since I am not interested in passenger car items.
