Can anyone tell me how to decipher a serial number that is on my C10 frame? Can it tell me anything about what the frame was originally for? I bought the frame bare. The serial number on it is 3829590 8 12 25 108. Anybody know?

The frame rails are die stamped with the frame number in the cab area of the frame and the numbers have no correlation to the VIN.

However the last 8 digits of the truck VIN should also be stamped on the top of the drivers side frame rail, just ahead of the motor mounts.
