About 4 or so months back I scored a Unity OEM left hand spotlight for my GMC. All the brackets were included, which you need to mount and install the light correctly.

HOWEVER, without the help of MARK BRAZELTON, who wrote up a very detailed procedure on the steps to take, I would still be scared to try and install the light.

Well tonight after getting some help from Mark, I got the light installed perfect. Took about an hour, I read everything twice and did every step as a practice step first. One accessory down and about 15 to go

that looks great! how hard are those to find? because I'd love to put some on my 62 GMC fire engine.

You can get the lights from unity, but the correct brackets are a bear to find. The top of the bracket is curved to fit the lip of the area just so. I found this light on eBay WITH the brackets, that why I grabbed it for the $150.00. I still want to replace teh light switch but that's only 12.00, the wiring is a bit worn.

BUT If you pick a spot or do a roof mount or other spot where the metal is flat, you will have no problem getting a light.

I'm trying to do a 100% OEM period correct restration, so it was important to me (at least in my mind) to use the setup.

Garandboy--you shouldn't have too much trouble finding spots for your fire engine--the fire trucks usually mounted them up high on the windshield pillar, near the roof, rather than at the cowl. Most firetrucks that I've seen had them there, though one did have them at the cowl.

I've been searching off-and-on for 4 years to get spot lights.
I did some horse trading and got a factory driver's side spotlight with brackets for my '62 Suburban. Then the hunt was on for a passenger side. The driver's side is rare: the passenger side is extremely rare. I ended up finding a pair of NOS brackets for $160, and though that was stiff, I was happy to get them. Found a nice factory spotlight on Ebay last month, without brackets, for $72 shipped.
I don't have the passenger side spot mounted yet, but I'm looking forward to getting it on the truck.

After wanting them for four years, I ended up with a matched set in under two months!

I found out that the OE brackets for the GM Accessory spots are part numbers 141RH/LH for the exterior (right hand or left hand), and 8205RH/LH for the interior.
Unity also offered an aftermarket bracket that was sold by NAPA, Western Auto, etc.. Those brackets do not look the same at all--they're almost tear-drop shaped, and have a rather clumsy clamp for the light's shaft. I was also told they have a very slightly different mounting location from the factory spots. Those are Bracket Number 31RH/LH. I don't know what they did for the interior brackets, but have a note in to the guy I got mine from.

He's heading out of town for a week, but he'll be happy to answer anyone's questions.

"I've got a 47-55 first series spotlight, a 55-59, a 60-63, a 64-66 & a 67-72. I can supply any other those spotlights for the drivers side. This has been a busy month for me because of vacations and other business. I haven't been advertising at all. But I've got the lights."

54Carryall: are you asking how to wire? or more than that? Wiring is easy.

Nice! I had 2 cop lights on my 65 for about a year. Took em out and gave them to my buddy for his 38 dodge. It was fun messing with people with the lights.

New brackets from Unity are still available, finding a dealer is tough.
