This puts the steering gear outside of the frame and out of the
way of your engine choice.
You can spec the rear end of your choice and install it with a Chassis engineering kit pretty easily. Nothing wrong with the stock frame unless it's rusted away or twisted.

You can see what I did in my build thread "'48 extended cab with attitude" located in the hipo shop. I also put a '77 Camaro sub frame under the '52 panel I built years ago. That wasn't too bad. Right now we are putting an S10 frame under my daughter's '46 International because her frame was junk. It is a ton of work making all new mounts and locating it all in the right spots.
