55 Series 2, auto transmission, small hump.

Finally ordered the carpet and heat shield (2 pieces) and they will be here today. Any advice on the install? I'm going to clean the area very well, then spray 3m Super 77 on the heat shield then place it on the floorboard. Was also going to use the Super 77 to attach the carpet to the heat shield.

Looking for any advice/guidance from those who have done it before.

Thanks in advance.

might be a better idea to glue the carpet to the heat shield and use the factory pegs to hold the combo down, most repro carpets have the holes for that .... glue everything to the floor and how do you know what's happening under there? also need to consider what you'll do when someone needs to open up that trans floor cover, or how you get carpet out if that becomes necessary some day

Thanks Bill. Can you help point me in the direction of the floor pegs. I can't find anything on classic industries or lmc.

you won't find replacements they are part of the floor, they're welded on, if yours are gone you'd have to make your own, which could be screwed in - look around the top outside corners and near the outside corners of the seat - looked at my 58, also look each side of the firewall 'hump' on the level the top of the carpet would be
