My hood for my 45 GMC 1/2 ton has 4 sections. Two upper pieces which consist of a left and right, and two lower pieces, again, a left and and right. One of the two top pieces, has a slight bow to it where it meets up with the cowl. It does not lay flat like the other side. It's not bent, or dented, just has a larger curve where it rests on the cowl, which now gives it a bad fit. SInce the hood is all sheetmetal, with no rolled over edge, or bead,, and no back panel for support, how do I straighten out the bow, to get a proper fit. I can take the hood, and press it down, and it just springs back since there is no support. Any metalworking suggestions? I was thinking of adding another piece, about 1/2" wide, to the bottom side, and seam weld it. THis would add some strength. PLease help with suggestions.

THanks

It sounds like it has stretched out and it "oilcanning". I'm no metalworking expert but I think to get that out you will have to shrink the metal somehow to flatten it back out again, which may be difficult.
