Installing a friction plate in a '61 261 3 sp. The friction plate is unmarked as to which side faces the engine. Does the side with the snout face the engine?

The part that extends out goes into the recess in the pressure plate. The flywheel bolts are almost even with the surface & will hang up if installed wrong.
