I am being told my 63 c60 requires a new/replaced double brake booster. My mechanic said he's looked high and low for one with no luck. Without this part the truck will remain useless and I could not ever expect to drive it again. Is there anybody who can assist me any here with this ? If one is located then I may could purchase it as long as it's not too expensive.

Thanks

Hy Red63, There are two different dual master cylinders (clutch and brake)listed for your 63 C60 one with a 1 1/4" master cylinder bore and the other with a 1 1/8" master cylinder bore.
The following are Raybestos p/ns and both are available at RockAuto
1 1/4" bore p/n MC19089 $131.79
1 1/8" bore p/n MC34404 $46.79
Hope that helps.

Thanks so much 3B. I will research which one we have and go from there. Your answer is very much appreciated.

Hy Red63, I may have misinterpreted what you are looking for, are you actually looking a tandem brake booster for your truck? Is your truck a single axle or a tandem?

It is a single axle truck. I am not sure what a double brake booster is but that is what the mechanic said I need.

Hy Red63, I cannot find a listing in my parts book for a tandem brake booster for a 1963 C60 Chev single axle. The standard booster is GM p/n 3874183 that is Bendix p/n 2504102 that crosses over at the Napa site to their p/n NBB518018, $234.00 + $17.00 core. The heavy duty booster is GM p/n 3874184 that is Bendix p/n 2504113 that crosses over at the Napa site to their p/n NBB518011 $249.00 + $22.00 core. Both pictures at the Napa site show a single Midland booster, but the pictures may be generic. If these parts are not correct I would suggest you "E" mail Geoffrey Rosenberg at Alretta brake parts [email protected] be prepared to give him as much info as possible, truck serial number, any numbers from the booster, hope this helps. Please keep us informed of your progress.
