I picked up a 292 last October and sent it to a builder to "freshen" it up a bit. I finally got it back this week. I wasn't in a hurry for it over the brutal winter anyway, so no big deal.

It now has Tom Lowes cam and valve kit in it along with new cam bearings and gears. Cylinders had less than .007 taper, so were left stock and stone honed. New rings on the original pistons. Crank was turned 10/10 and head milled .060. Hedman header, Clifford intake , Holley 390 and Pertronix billet distributor and matching coil. New oil and water pumps. We fired it on a test stand to break in the cam. It was run thru turbo mufflers and sounded like an exotic european V6 !! It has a slight lopey idle that gives it a little attitude. Can't wait to get it in the truck now.
