I noticed I had a factory installed brake booster....do you 1 ton guys leave this in place and if you do how does it work?? Oh yeah this is set up for a dump box, is that a good thing or no?? Any insight would be great. MikeC

Some guys add them, there is a thread earlier about adding shocks. I have a 1951 1 ton with dual rear wheels and a grain box and it has a brake booster on it, have not gotten far enough to decide anything on it yet, Immediate goal here is to get that truck cleaned up and running. The VIN tag is 5KSL 3194....Single wheel rear too. It has a lift mechanism on the back also.

Looks factory to me. I love the way it helps to stop this truck, it's a nice feature, I wish my '49 1 ton had it. Neither one of my 1 tons have rear shocks. https://www.flickr.com/photos/ajporsche/sets/72157640409893304/ | | | | Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 486 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2006 Posts: 486 | My '57 3800 has hydrovac and I'm 99% certain it came that way from the factory. It could have been special order because it was a government truck. http://s305.photobucket.com/user/jfnar/media/57%20chevy%203800/7f5847c2.jpg.html
