He did a beautiful job on it for $200 He made it 2 colors and rolled and pleated inserts for the bottom and back.
Now, I am terribly disappointed since I have installed it. I am wondering if it came out of something else. The back hits the curve in the back of the cab and will not go back far enough to be comfortable. It likes 2 or 3 inches hitting the cab below the rear glass. But I have wedged it in the curves as far as possible. Could someone give me a rough measurement of the length of their seat back on a 55-59 model? Thanks very much.

I will try that. I think I am about average. 5ft. 10 inches. 170 lbs. I do have long arms and this thing has a huge steering wheel. I guess it is larger than a pickup.

I do have the wrong seat. Mine measures 60.5 at the back arms. Must be out of a 60's model? Now I have a beautiful gray & white seat I cannot use. Got to start looking for an original seat now.

I got lucky and found a seat out of a 1955 here in town. There is 5 inches difference in the width of the seats. (No wonder I couldn't install it.) I already got it back from the upholstery man and put in the truck. I can drive it now!! Since I was at it, I changed the color scheme from white & gray to turquoise and gray. Turned out beautiful and no white to get dirty off the seat of my pants!
