The Stovebolt Site Forums The Shop Area Paint and Body Shop 60-66 Inner Fender Patch Panels

I've noticed that classic parts offers inner fender patch panels for that very front area that catches the rust. That's great and all but they are expensive for what they are. I'm thinking I can probably easily fix it with left over sheet metal? I'm going to have quite a bit of extra left over from my cab supports and cab corner plus I have a floor pan which I'm only going to use a fraction of. Has anyone ever tackeled this area?

I have been wondering the same thing. My thoughts were that if the patch panels fit very good, they would be worth the expense to purchase them. If they didn't fit, or the gauge was too thin, then they would not be worth the money. I have seen them on Tony's website (4-5-6 trucks). I am thinking that if he sells them, they must be good. Just my two cents...Jim.

Thanks for your input. I sure would like to hear from someone that's used them. They are quite pricey nearly half of the cost of new inner fenders.

I looked them up on 4-5-6 trucks. It says they're 16 ga steel. That answers that. I'm thinking I feel pretty good about them if they're 16ga. Thanks.
