We'll this is my first post and I really hope its in the correct spot. Over the past 2 years I have been building my 53 GMC. I have put it on a 2000 Sonoma frame and am using a crate 5.0l gm TBI engine out of a 92 GMC. I have used the factory harness with the ECM # 1227747. I have it wired but cannot get the throttle body solinoids to allow the gas to feed the engine. I have been stumped for weeks and have been constantly reading to try and get this figured out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hy Matrix1241, are you using all the sensors and relays that were designed for the ECM? I'm not familiar with that ECM p/n, is it for a TBI engine? Have you verified your TPS signal is within range?

Did you modify the factory harness at all? Did you cut out anything that the ECM may need?

One wire of each TBI injector should have straight battery voltage when the ignition switch is in the run position. The other wire is the ground, provided by the quad drivers in the ECM in response to the computer's calculations. The first thing to establish is if there's battery voltage at the injectors with the switch in "run", and while cranking. Gotta have the fuel pump running while cranking, too.

If your getting power to your injectors, and your fuel pump is energizing and getting fuel to the injector Throttle body, then you might need to take the injectors out and clean them. If its set for long time, they do gum up. I would verify pumps energizing, can you hear it come on, crack the fuel line open at the fitting on the throttle body just a little with a rag over it and see if fuel comes out. Have an extinguisher handy "just in case". Hamilton Fuel Injection has a good forum also, just google him. Good luck. Oh, do you have enough gas in the tank. Not being a smart *ss, just had to throw that in there because my wife couldn't start her car one time after she parked on a hill at a yard sale. Out of gas, LOL.
