Working on getting an original AM radio ready for my truck. I found replacement knobs at one of the vendors.
When they arrived I was surprised to that they were chrome plated plastic. Not only that they don't really fit over the shafts and the tone control doesn't fit on that pots connector.

Never have seen original knobs I don't know if they were metal like I kind of expected. My dads 62 Belair had metal knobs.

Anybody know for sure?

yes, all the repros are plastic, originals were metal .... and scarce
